Fayth enters
the clearing stomping loudly. A branch gets in her way, and she strikes at it, removing it from her path. Her face contorted
in fury, her eyes scan the area, apparently searching for something or someone. Spotting Claude, she points a finger at
him and hisses
"You." She stalks over to him, planting herself directly in front of him with her hands on her hips. "You are an evil, heartless
bastard who will spend the rest of eternity rotting in the fiery depths of all that is evil. I will never forgive you for
what you have done..." Her voice raises to a shout. "...NEVER!" She glares at him and spits onto the ground between them.
Claude doesn't
even look up at the storming fury that is Fayth. His shoulders shrug lightly and he continues sharpening a knife. "Thats nice.
Wanna leave me alone now?"
Fayth glares
at Claude, even more furious (if that's at all possible) at his response. She chuckles, and her snarl is replaced by an evil
grin. "Alone, eh. Alone..." She crosses her arms and stares down at Claude, pretending to ponder the word. "You know all about
alone, don't you Claude?" Her voice takes on a teasing, sing-song voice, though the cold undertone remains. "You don't have
a heart. All you have is a sword. You are a lonely man who can't bear to see two people reveling in happiness." She smirks.
"That's it, isn't it? Little Claude-y isn't getting any loving? Perhaps it's because you're more concerned about your braids
than you are a woman."
Claude smirks
lightly and goes on with his sharpening. The scraping of rock against knife edge goes on at the same pace without changing.
Eventually he looks up. "I probably don't have a heart, could be 'cause it was ripped out and stomped on when a certain someone
who thinks its funny to pull hair, practically spit on someone then pretend its fine because you apologized and jump all over
a bunch of men. Yeah I have a sword, big deal, you've got a big ego. And I wouldn't trade for the world. And if getting love
is what you consider rolling around in the sand with someone else so moronically that the combined intelligence of the entire
party wouldn't be high enough to outwit a three year old, then I prefer my way." He nods and looks back down at his knife,
examining the edge and then switching to the other knife.
Fayth laughs
a cold, bitter laugh. "You're still upset because I pulled your hair, and you insult -my- intelligence?" She rolls her eyes
at him, and gestures toward the bank. "And turning a short bout of tickling into some sort of romp in the sand may perhaps
be wishful thinking on your part..." She tsks softly and murmurs "Really, Claude...I would have expected better from such
a noble man who feels he must report every violation of every rule..." She raises her voice again and continues. "And yes.
You have a sword. You do not let me forget it. Every time I see you, you're playing with your small, insignificant sword.
So tell me, Claude. What difference does it make if I play with sword or sand?"
Claude shrugs
lightly again and replies, "You must truly be stupid if you think having a memory deems low intelligence. And from what I've
seen of you, I wouldn't want to romp with you anywhere. How many men have had you? Come from a brothel there, Fayth? Maybe
thats why youre always so playful." He laughs scornfully and continues, "Oh, I play with a sword, and you play with the sand.
Its true, no denying that. Except for the fact that a sword can be useful and sand is about as useful as a member of the Band,
thusly useless. Just another sign of your incompetence. So youre hung up that I did my duty. I'm -so sorry- if I'm supposed
to report a whore in training and a moron with a silver tongue going at it. What ever was I thinking." His scornful laugh
only continues.
Fayth maintains
her crooked grin, and peers at Claude appraisingly. "I'm a bit curious as to who these other men are that you speak of...and
also a bit curious as to how you would know that I've been with so many men...perhaps you're taking your..." She smirks. "...job...a
bit -too- seriously?" Her hand twitches when he insults the Band. "Ahh.. I see. Now I know the true reasons behind the way
you've been treating me. You're not the least bit upset that I pulled your hair...you're more upset that I haven't pulled
something else a little more...intimate." She tsks. "Or perhaps you were so pleased that Talill was banned from Salidar because
you were jealous of the time I got to spend with him...want him all to yourself, Claude? I must warn you, I don't take kindly
to sharing..."
Claude smirks
as his laughing stops and retorts, "You can think thats my preference if you want to, it only proves you more the fool than
I figured you for, though you made no defense of your own situation. Should I call you Fayth or town whore now? I think town
whore will suffice nicely. And I would actually prefer if whats his name came around shortly, its easier to kill a man when
they are around then when you can't get to them."
Fayth kneels
down directly in front of Claude and smiles at him. "Call me what you will, Claude dear. I have finally realized how little
your opinion means to me. But I tell you this now: His name is Talill, and if you lay a hand on him, he will kill you faster
than you can cry out for your precious sword. And relish in it, I wouldn't doubt. I only hope he allows me to witness it."
Claude can't
help but laughing, "Ahh, poor town whore. The day any man from that sad excuse for an army bests me I'll die of shame. Though,
if youre challenging for him, I accept. He's as good as dead the next time you see him. Or....maybe I should wait 'till you
bond him....ever go through Bond loss whore girl?"
Fayth nods.
"You'll die, all right, though whether it is from shame or a sword, I care not." She stops smiling, and her eyes and voice
become colder and harder than ever before. "Apparently you are just as stupid as you think I am. Bond Loss is something that
is difficult to go through if you've never bonded..." She rolls her eyes at him. "Although, I must say...I'm not the least
bit worried. You will never kill him. I will kill you myself before I'll let that happen."
Claude just
says one thing in response, "I keep telling you. The opinions and threats of a whore have nothing that can affect me. Go jump
on a man and see what he thinks, but I'll bet his response will be the same as mine. Youre a mediocre screamer and a stupid
slut. Get out of my sight."
Fayth doesn't
move. Her voice becomes low, almost a whisper. "I can assure you that I've never had any complaints. Something I'm sure you've
dreamed of. But we're not here to talk about your inadequacies, however many they may be. To be honest, I'm not even quite
sure why I am wasting my time. But I'll tell you something. Call me a whore again, and you will regret it."
Claude grins
and replies, "No one complains when they get it -whore-. They bitch about it later, -whore-. But you'd think the town -whore-
would know things like this."
Fayth chuckles
at Claude, and stands. "You're absolutely right, Claude. I don't know what I was thinking. Although, you certainly seem to
know an awful lot about interacting with whores. If I didn't know firsthand that you had absolutely no sense of humor, I would
have taken you for a bandie." She grins. "And I was not kidding about what I said. You will regret it."
Merissa walks
along the path her hands behind her back. "I wish I understood more. Such things going on here. I hope I do not have to place
judgment upon him." Not really paying attention to the others as of yet. "Why would a warder do such things?" She appears
to be talking to the owl on her shoulder. It blinks at her and goes who?
Claude snickers
as he brushes past the foolish whore, "Of course you will -whore-." He says into her ear as he leaves and head for Salidar,
both knives in one hand, sword in the other.
Fayth turns
to watch him leave, and snarls when he calls her a name again. "I told you to stop calling me a whore!" she yells after him,
moving as if to follow and continue her tirade.
Merissa hears
Fayth yell and stops to observe the two people. "Both of you stop. Both of you come here." She points to a spot in front of
her. "Why are your weapons out young man? Is there some threat wandering Salidar?" She sighs. "I swear, this place has grown
a lot more interesting lately."
Claude just
keeps walking and calls over his shoulder, "I don't know what youre talking about Accepted." His long strides and quick pace
eat the ground away and are probably worth two of his strides for 5 or 6 of Fayth's. He turns when he is called and responds
calmly, "There is no threat here Aes Sedai. And I was cleaning and sharpening my weapons. They were used in no wrong way."
He takes two steps nearer to Merissa and says, "There is nothing here that is of concern Aes Sedai. With your leave, I will
continue back to the yards."
Fayth stops
in her tracks when she is summoned, and moves to stand near Merissa immediately, offering one last glare at Claude before
curtseying deeply to Merissa. "Greetings, Aes Sedai." She stands up and watches Merissa, waiting expectantly.
Merissa nods
to Fayth. "I am afraid this does concern me. An accepted off with a warder, all alone. Her outburst is also of some
concern. So the right of this must be hammered out. Please replace your weapons a moment." She turns to Fayth. "Now, why are
you yelling such things here accepted? Speak up, fear no reprisals for honesty at least."
Fayth nods,
and as she speaks, her eyes fill with tears. "I'm afraid, Aes Sedai, that this whole situation started because of me. Claude..."
She gestures in his direction. "...upset me earlier, and I came back here to discuss things with him. Unfortunately, our argument
became a bit out of hand..." At this her voice becomes cold and her eyes become hard. "...and he said things that I'm sure
he didn't mean." She glares at him then, before swiveling her head around to focus back on Merissa.
Claude stoops
down to replace both knives and stands to sheathe his sword at his hip. Its slides into the scabbard with a whisking sound
and a clank as the edge of the scabbard meets the cross guard hard. "Aes Sedai." He says in response to show he complied easily
enough.
Merissa listens
to the accepted as she talks. She then turns to Claude. "What happened then? What was said on both sides? I want to hear from
both. This way I know if further action is needed. You as the accused can speak first. Tell me your side." She lets her hands
drop to her sides and her owl peers at Claude.
Fayth folds
her hands and stands patiently, staring at Claude with barely veiled hatred, her eyes hard and cold.
Another Aes
Sedai glides into view and it appears to be Valen as she comes closer. it most definitely is her as she beams a smile at Fayth,
frowns at Claude, then looks at Merissa. Studying her for a moment, inclines her head briefly and says in a warm voice, 'Sister..
how does it go this day? Is everything alright here?" she asks, as she picks up on the atmosphere. (Valen)
Claude shrugs,
"There is no need of further action Aes Sedai. We simply had a bit of a bad end to our discussion. It is done now, and will
never be picked up again. Of this I assure you."
Merissa tilts
her head and hmms. She then turns to Fayth. "You. Tell me everything. Why exactly you two were out here alone. What the argument was about and why you were so mad." She looks to Valen. "What are you doing
out of white?" A bit of a smile. "I only tease you. I haven't been home long. This accepted and this warder had a altercation.
I am rectifying it." She turns her attention to Fayth.
Fayth nods
again. She sends a small smile Valen's way briefly, then breaks into her monologue. "I'm afraid it is a long-running argument,
Aes Sedai, that we have been having trouble coming to terms with. This man..." She gestures toward Claude again, though does
not look in his direction. "...this man doesn't much care for a friend of mine. He has threatened his life on a number of
occasions, and has even been called down for it before, if I'm remembering correctly. Unfortunately, earlier today their...tension...became
even stronger, and I became involved. I left with my friend to settle our differences, then came back here to settle things
with..." She gestures again. "...him. I insulted his hair, and he insulted my purity by calling me a..." She frowns. "Well,
I believe you heard what he called me as you came nearby." She shrugs. "I took offense, of course, as did he, and the two
of us had words. That's where we were when you found us." She curtsies again.
Valen's Aes
Sedai serenity is broken as she cannot help but grin at her old instructor, it quickly passes however as Merissa explains
the situation. Her face becomes serious and she turns a cool eye onto Fayth and Claude, but frowning at Claude more so than
Fayth. She says to her sister, still looking at Claude, "This is the man who caused a ruckus not a few days past.. but this
Accepted was also involved." She turns her frown on Fayth, and addresses her, "Have you been getting into mischief again,
Fayth? You know the rules for Accepted are the same as for Novices, in regards to keeping the company of men. I still consider
you a friend, but perhaps some discipline is in order for you, yes?"
Claude just
stands there.
Merissa looks
between the two. "I don't like people threatening others for -any- reason. There had better been one heck of an extenuating
circumstance guardian, if not you are in quite a bit of trouble." She looks at Fayth. "Youre in trouble to, but we will deal
with you in a moment."
Fayth nods
solemnly and turns her attention to Valen. "I apologize, Valen Sedai. I do hope my delinquency will not affect our relationship."
She then stands quietly, and waits for her punishment.
Claude nods,
"Yes there was a circumstance. Threats and being channeled against happen to have put me on edge. The rest has been dealt
with by Sandra Sedai."
Valen purses
her lips thoughtfully, shares a glance with Merissa, then says to Fayth, "This won't change things between us, but I think
you had better report to Mara for some extra chores this week... after every breakfast and dinner, I think." That settled,
she turns to Claude, "And you. I don't know exactly what is going on between you and Fayth here, but it's going to stop. You
know she cannot be seen conniving alone with you, or any other man. Now I want to report to the Master at Arms, or any instructor
you can find, and ask him for an appropriate punishment to be given you for something of this nature, is that understood?"
Merissa raises
an eyebrow at Valen. "You overstep your bounds Elder Valen. I am the senior sister here. I was dealing with this. Are we clear?"
She turns to the others. "Fayth will be helping out with the laundry till further notice. I am sure they will appreciate the
help." She turns to Claude. "I want you to stay away from each other. That way there are no arguments. You can help out the
stable boys. If the master at arms has problems with me giving you punishments he can come to me."
Claude nods
twice in response, turns on his heel, and heads out but not before replying calmly, "Yes Aes Sedai."
Fayth nods.
"As you wish, Aes Sedai." She curtsies to both Sedai, Merissa first, then Valen. As she curtsies to Valen, she sends her a
soft smile and a wink, though it's obvious her heart isn't in it. "Pardon, Valen Sedai, but if I could make an appointment
to see you, I would wish to speak with you, when I'm not busy with chores, of course."
Valen glances
at Merissa wryly, but nods and doesn't comment. She also nods at Fayth, and says, "You may see me in the Grey Ajah Meeting
House as soon as you are done with your chores this afternoon." She doesn't even bother with Claude, now that Merissa has
decided.
Fayth nods
at Valen, and curtsies again. "Thank you, Valen Sedai. I shall see you then." She turns, and makes her way back to the tower.
