In which dinner turns into a drunken affair...

Gloria steps quietly into the room, looking cleaner and much less worse for wear. She's wearing a light colored yellow dress which clings to her waist but falls loosely around her ankles. She grins as she spies Arlenios, and makes her way over to him. "Ahh, I was afraid I would come down to an empty room!" Relief is written clearly on her face as she pulls up a chair and plops herself down at the table, rather unceremoniously. "I feel as though I could eat a horse!"

Arlenios smiles softly and rises as you enter, watching you draw nearer with a soft smile. He resumes sitting after you take a chair, and he does so in a smooth manner. "It would take a command from the Dragon himself to make me miss this." He grins a bit and watches you curiously as you settle in. He looks at the table maid in the corner of the room with a soft nod and she opens the door to the common room, allowing other patrons to enter if they so wish. "I just wanted to make sure there was a chair for you when you came." He blushes a bit and clears his throat as the barmaid comes and asks politely for their orders.

Gloria watches the exchange with the maid impassively, though she turns her head and snickers a bit at the explanation given by Arlenios. She turns back and nods graciously. "I thank you. That was most kind." She smiles at the maid. "I'm afraid I've never eaten here before, so I don't know what's good." She turns to Arlenios. "What do you recommend, sir?"

Arlenios looks thoughtful for a moment, before saying, "As soups go, the lentil is quite good. But, if you're hungry, I would suggest roast pheasant." He looks to the barmaid. "Myself, I will have a roast pheasant with a roasted potatoes. And a basket of rolls, if it pleases you. Oh, and a bottle of your best white to drink. Two glasses." He smiles and looks to Gloria.

Gloria shrugs. "Sounds good to me. I'll have the same." She fidgets in her seat, in an attempt to find a more comfortable position, then glances around her. "Well, this is a nice place. Very cozy." She gazes at the pictures, a soft smile forming on her lips. "You sure have good taste, Soldier Arlenios Nialko. That some sort of prerequisite for getting to wear the fancy clothes?" She grins and winks to show she's just teasing, then yawns.

Arlenios grins slightly and gives the barmaid a golden crown to send her on her way. "Well, I was always fond of this place, though I admit there are better." A pause as Arlenios's eyes twinkle mischeviously. "Perhaps we could go to one of those nicer establishments in the future, if you so wish it." He leans back in the chair, smoothing invisible wrinkles from his coat.

Gloria raises an eyebrow and shrugs again. What makes you think I'll want to continue to spend time in your company? Do you fancy yourself a man whose feet women would throw themselves at?" She grins. "Not that I'm saying I wouldn't enjoy it, because I would. I love to travel. And your company is decent enough." She crosses her legs and folds her arms. "I suppose."

Arlenios grins a bit and rolls his eyes. "More like a man that women would run from in fear and disgust." He chuckles politely as the barmaid appears with a bottle of white wine in her right hand and two empty wine glasses in her left. She sets the glasses on the table and fills Gloria's first before filling Arlenios, setting the bottle on the table when she is completed. She drops into a curtsey before moving away to tend to other tables. Arlenios picks up the glass and tips it to you by way of silent toast.

Gloria smirks and appraises Arlenios silently for a moment. Reaching for the other glass, she shakes her head. "Fear, maybe. Disgust, doubtful." She tips her own glass, then takes a sip of the wine. "And you have nothing to worry about in my case, anyway, because I fear nothing." She takes another sip of her wine and smiles. "This is good."

Arlenios chuckles a bit and says, "Of course, Gloria. I would never imagine that you could fear anything." He grins softly to show his sarcasm and takes a small sip of his own wine before setting it down on the table in front of him, yawning a bit. "I take it that you found the Silver Room satisfactory, then?" He smiles and sizes you up. "You're a far cry from the woman I met earlier today."

Gloria nods, still smirking. "Tis true enough, I suppose. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, which is more than I've had many other nights. Or, days, in this case." She frowns as if deep in thought, and glances upwards. She rolls her eyes, then continues. "It was larger than I expected as well, which was a nice surprise." She looks down at her clothes and twines a strand of hair around a finger. "I guess I do clean up rather nicely, don't I?"

Arlenios grins a bit and nods in agreement. "Positively breathtaking, I must say. You're absolutely beautiful." He smiles a bit and looks up as the same barmaid comes back with with a plate of biscuits, setting them on the table with yet another curtsey. Arlenios nods with a smile and looks to you, gauging your reaction.

Gloria grins, and tilts her head to the side, peering at Arlenios with obvious doubt in her eyes. "Beautiful, you say? Tell me something, Soldier Arlenios Nialko, have you met many women? Because I have met many men...and beautiful is something they've never thought to call me...although quite a few other words have come up, breathtaking was also never one of them." She grabs a biscuit, and takes a huge bite, chewing loudly.

Arlenios grins in return, tilting his head to meet yours. "Well, I've heard on more than one occasion that men are stupid. And the fact that other men don't find you pretty bodes well for me, yes?" He smiles softly and innocently, taking another sip from his wine,.

Gloria swallows the biscuit and chuckles quietly. "That it does, I suppose. That it does." She glares in the direction the serving woman went, and mutters quietly under her breath. "Where is that blasted woman with my food?" She takes a sip of her wine, and starts to gnaw on her thumbnail. Her head jerks up suddenly and she freezes, apparently lost in thought. Then she relaxes, forgets about the nail, and takes another sip of her wine.

Arlenios grins at the young woman before him as the serving woman appears as if on cue, carrying a large tray of food and looking rather flustered. Arlenios offers her a sympathetic smile as she sets the two identical dishes on the table, taking her tray. Arlenios flips her another golden crown, obviously a tip, causing her to fall into a curtsey so low it must be painful before scurrying away.

Gloria narrows her eyes as she sees yet another gold crown pass between the two, and opens her mouth to say something. However, the aroma of the food apparently makes her forget whatever she was about to say, and her eyes light up. Helping herself generously, she digs into her food with fervor, obviously eager to fill the void in her stomach. There is nothing dainty or ladylike about the way she eats...the crunch of food and smacking of lips nearly drowns out her moans of pleasure, and she eats with an energy that imlies she hasn't eaten in days.

Arlenios chuckles a bit as you dig in, more amusement on his face than anything else. "And my Lady is hungry, it seems." He offers you a soft smile as he turns up the cuffs of his coat before taking a mouthful of potato that he washes down with another sip of wine.

Gloria pauses for a moment, food halfway to her mouth, and scowls at Arlenios. "I am no lady, sir. Woman, yes, but there isn't any lady in me." She returns to her food, although a bit slower this time, and there is even a half-hearted attempt to use her handkerchief to wipe her mouth, instead of her dress.

Arlenios blinks a bit at your sudden ferocity, and holds his hands up defensively. "My apologies, Gloria, I was only teasing." He mutters something under his breath and takes a bite of pheasant, swallowing it before wiping his hands on the kerchief, looking aroudn the room thoughtfully. He idly swills the wine in his glass, checking it for sediment before bringing it to his lips for a third taste, hmming thoughtfully.

Gloria grunts in acknowledgement to the apology, then finishes her meal. She wipes her mouth with the handkerchief, swallows the last of her wine, and nibbles at a biscuit. "That was good, sir, thank you. I appreciate all the kindness you have shown me. It isn't often that a man be so willing to help without expecting something in return." She leans back in her chair and lets out a satisfied groan. "I don't believe my stomach could contain anything more," she adds, grinning.

Arlenios grins a bit and leans back too, leaving the half-empty wine glass on the table, obviously finished with it. "Well, your company is payment enough." He chuckles a bit in the awkward pause, before continuing. "And I'm glad I could be of help, Gloria. Will you be needing a place to stay while in Caemlyn?" He arches an eye quizically, still smiling a bit.

Gloria stares at the wall, eyebrows furrowed in deep concentration. She unconsciously counts on her fingers before her eyes refocus and she turns to Arlenios. "I'm afraid I do not know how long I will be staying. I had hoped to find an inn in need of an entertainer, so that I might stay for a time, but unfortunately I managed to sleep away most of today." She frowns, obviously disgusted with herself. "I suppose that is a decision I will have to save for tomorrow."

Arlenios offers a soft but weak smile. "There is no rush. The key I gave you is yours as long as you need it." He picks up his wine and takes another sip from it. "Besides, I'm sure that rest and a hot bath was good for you. As was the ah.. massage.. I administered earlier." He blushes just a bit and runs a hand over his smooth head.

Gloria barks a short, loud laugh, and nods. "All good things." She smirks at the blushes and grins, her eyes twinkling mischeviously. "Especially that massage." She pretends to be considering something, then chuckles. "Perhaps that massage will be the one thing that keeps me here. Wouldn't want to pass up the opportunity to receive more of those, after all." She reaches for the bottle and fills her glass again.

Arlenios grins a bit and gives a short, mocking bow. "It would be my pleasure, Gloria. Or would it be yours?" An innocent grin appears on his face and picks up his wineglass, finishing the clearish liquid before refilling his cup after you fill yours.

Gloria raises an eyebrow and stares at Arlenios over the rim of her glass. "I do believe that if I partake of this wine a moment longer, we will have a difficult time determining just who had the most pleasure..." With that, she tilts her head back and drains her glass, before slamming it onto the table with a roguish grin.

Arlenios grins and take his entire glass in one swallow, returning your grin with one of his own. "I hope that was not a challenge, Gloria. I hold my drink pretty well." He sets his glass down and refills it, looking at you with a mischievious grin.

Gloria throws her head back and laughs a deep, throaty laugh, then grabs the bottle and fills her own glass again. "At this rate, we may need another bottle." She chuckles, and drinks her wine a bit slowly this time, though with no less enthusiasm. "It has been some time since I've had such fine drink, but I do believe I remember how it's done..."

Arlenios grins and calls a barmaid over. "A keg of your strongest brandy, goodwoman." He grins and downs his third glass of wine in four swallows, letting out a soft cough and looking at you for a reaction.

Gloria throws back her head and laughs again, slapping the table

energetically. She lets out a loud hoot, and gives the order a bit loudly to "Bring it on!" She shifts in her chair, her face flushed and her eyes bright and shining. "Let's go, woman, get that stuff over here!" She is apparently oblivious to everything with the exception of her glass and Arlenios.

Arlenios grins excitedly as the woman sets the keg on the table, and Arlenios lowers his glass into it and pulls it out, drinking the much stronger beverage more slowly, setting his glass down with a soft thud. His own face is slightly flused now, and his green eyes have become more.. observant.. as they watch you.

Gloria hoots and dips her glass as well, spilling quite a bit as she pulls it out. She takes a large drink, then wrinkles her nose and coughs. She plops down into her seat glass in hand, and grins at Arlenios. "There's a reason they don't give big glasses, eh Soldier Arlenios Nialko?" She cackles, then swallows a bit more. Her eyes narrow as she scans the room, and, apparently not finding anything of interest, takes another drink.

Arlenios grins a bit and nods his eyes lingering a bit longer than polite before saying, "To stop people from doing this, I bet." He takes another glass of it with a second cough, pounding his chest with his fist. "Good stuff, that is." His face is a bit more flushed and he grins broadly.

Gloria nods. "Aye, that it is." She takes another sip of her drink and smiles at Arlenios. "Tell me, sir, is this how you normally operate? Was it your intention to get me good and drunk when you invited me to dinner?" She giggles and hiccups, covering her mouth nearly 3 full seconds after. "Cause I must say, I do believe it's working." Her words are staring to slur, and her gestures have become much more outrageous.

Arlenios chuckles and shrugs. "It wasn't the plan, but it's a nice perk, eh?" He grins at you before his face slackens with the coldness of the Void as Saidin rolls off of him. Using a flow of Air, he taps you on the right shoulder before goosing you softly. He lets out a loud laugh as he pushes Saidin away, taking a long drink of brandy.

Gloria yelps and jumps, nearly falling out of her chair. She takes a moment to steady herself, then sends a sharp glare in your direction. "That, sir, was not very nice." She grumbles something unintelligible under her breath, then raises her voice suddenly. "Why, I have half a mind to come over there and make you sorry you did that!" She swallows more brandy, and scowls.

Arlenios grins and lets out another laugh. "Would you, now? And how exactly would you go about doing that, hmm?" He finishes the glass of brandy in his hand, and does not move to refill it.

Gloria scowls and sets her own glass down. "Well I don't rightfully know, but I'm sure it would be something very painful and unpleasant. You're just lucky I can't partake of that skill you've got there, or I'd be goosing you up and down this place, parading you for all to see!" Her gesture implies that she does in fact mean all of Caemlyn, and the ferocity with which she gestures nearly knocks her off her chair again.

Arlenios blushes apologetically. "I apologize, Gloria. What I did was... uncalled for, in the least. I.." He stands and bows. "I will go, if you so wish it. Again, I am terribly sorry."

Gloria looks startled for a moment, blinking rapidly, in an obvious attempt to clear her head long enough to think. "Uhh...that's okay. Listen, I think I've had too much to drink..." She gets to her feet shakily, and wobbles a bit on her way over to you. She trips and nearly barrels right into you, but manages to catch herself on the table. "Perhaps we can meet again in the morning, when I've slept this off and can think a bit more clearly...yes, tomorrow...yes..." She starts to slowly make her way toward the stairs.

Arlenios nods a bit at Gloria, looking a little disappointed. "Of course, Gloria." He grabs a barmaid. "Make sure she reaches her room safely." The girl nods and begins to move towards Gloria. Arlenios bows, saying, "Good night, Gloria."

Gloria leans on the girl gratefully and at the door remembers to turn around to Arlenios. "Thank you, Soldier Arlenios Nialko, for taking such good care of me." She turns back to start up the stairs, moaning softly as each step jars her head.
