The early afternoon sun reflects brilliantly off the mostly untouched snow on the ground, the residents of Lugard usually too busy to prowl the gardens.

Kasim Akylia is sitting on a frost-covered bench off the path, sitting next to a large rosebush that is brown in the winter.

As her footsteps crunch over the snow, Fayth takes great pains to balance the basket on her arm. Steam creeps out from beneath the white cloth covering whatever it is that is emitting such a mouth-watering aroma. As she glances up and spies Kasim, her face breaks out in a huge grin, and she lifts her hand to wave, forgetting about her bundle. Losing her balance, she flails her arms in an attempt to save both herself as well as the food. (Fayth)

Kasim looks up as he hears Fayth trudging through the snow, smiling as she waves to him, returning the wave. Surprise and shocked amusement dominate his features as she begins to fall, and he stands and begins to move towards her quickly, arm outstretched to catch her should she begin to fall.

Her eyes wide and her mouth open in a silent "Oh!" of surprise, Fayth skids along tossing the basket between both hands. Upon noticing Kasim moving toward her, she practically throws the basket at him, squeaking out a quick, "Here, catch!" before finding herself on the way to becoming more acquainted with the ground. (Fayth)

Kasim stops suddenly to catch the projectile, his leather-soled boots sliding a few inches on the frozen ground before he stops. His extended arms catch the basket as it hits him in the chest, and he begins to laugh quietly but whole-heartedly as Fayth finds herself playing in the snow.

Fayth plops hard onto the ground, and for a moment, she just sits there, a rather stunned expression on her face. Then she looks at Kasim, though, and decides on the only proper course of action for this kind of situation. Throwing herself backward and lying flat in the snow, she laughs so hard that eventually she finds herself wiping tears from her eyes. "Nice catch."

Kasim reaches into the basket and pulls out a hot piece of bread before sitting crosslegged in the snow next to Fayth. "Nice balance." He's still grinning as he takes a bite from the hot breakfast, holding the basket out to her.

Groaning, Fayth raises herself just enough to rest on her elbows, unable to keep the grin off her face. Ignoring the wet and the cold, she leans over just long enough to grab a slice of bread and take a bite of her own. "You just can't take me anywhere, can you?" (Fayth)

Kasim chuckles, and shakes his head. "It looks like it's you that needs more training, not me." He smirks quietly and removes his cloak, reaching over to drape the thick material around his companion. "This is good. Where'd you get it?" He takes another bite of bread.

Fayth waves vaguely off in the direction from which she came, and smiles at the cloak. "Who said you needed more training? You caught the basket before it hit the ground, that's more than I could have done." She sits up carefully so as not to allow the cloak to hit the ground, then sighs loudly. "Oh, Kasim. I haven't laughed that hard in such a long time."

Kasim grins. "Well, you have no one to thank but yourself, for that. If you kee up like that, w'ere both likely to die from amusement. Well, maybe it'll be embarassment for you." He laughs and moves next to her, trying to pull some of the cloak about him. "So, where would you like to go?"

Fayth laughs again, and drapes the cloak back over Kasim completely. "You need that more than I do, hon. Perhaps we should move to the fountain? At least then you wouldn't have to sit in the snow." Standing, she brushes herself off vigorously, then offers a hand. "As far as where I'd like to go..." She pauses a moment, thinking. "I don't much care, as long as it's far away from where I came from. That part of my life is in the past, where I'd like it to stay."

Kasim stands up, taking the hand put putting very little of his weight on it, relying on his legs to push himself up from the ground. "Here is fine, we can sit on the bench. It like it in this garden much better, even if everything is dead." He moves to the bench he occupied before Fayth entered. "I think Tear might be nice this time of year. Or maybe we could visit your family, in Caemlyn?"

Fayth follows Kasim to the bench, sitting as close to him as possible without actually sitting in his lap. At the mention of her family, her eyes light up, twinkling with pleasure. "Can we? You know that I would never pass up a chance to visit my family, Kasim, and to be able to take you there to meet them...well, that would just be...well...perfect." She pauses, then adds, "Of course, I hear Tear might be nice this time of year, also."

Kasim smiles and moves next to her, looking at the bushes across the park. He returns the smile, nodding. "Well, Tear shouldn't change much if we spend a few weeks in Caemlyn, I'd imagine. And I would love to accompany you in visiting your family." He looks over at her eyes, and is apparently pleased to have pleased her.

Fayth squeezes Kasim's hand lightly. "Then it's settled. We can leave whenever you're ready."
